The “Adoring Fan” is an admirer of the Spacefarer, recruitable as a potential crewmate.[1] The adoring fan is found in random locations whenever you have the trait “Hero worshiped”.
Background[]
The adoring fan is a bubbly and high energy parody of fans and superfan culture. He is uncritically approving of the players actions and has a disregard for their own personal liberty and comfort — if it benefits the Spacefarer.
Recruitment[]
The adoring fan can only be recruited if the Spacefarer has the Hero Worshipped trait. He will approach Spacefarer in the city of New Atlantis after they have visited Constellation for the first time. He may mention hearing about them on the radio if the Spacefarer informed Nadia Muffaz at the Settled Systems News Network about the battle at the Argos Extractors Mining Outpost.
Skills[]
| Skill | Star Level | Stars |
|---|---|---|
| Scavenging | 1 | ✦ |
| Concealment | 1 | ✦ |
| Weight Lifting | 2 | ✦✦ |
Notes[]
- He uses a Sidestar Pistol which requires 27. Caliber ammunition.
- He unlocks a variety of new voice lines based on what Main Quests the player has completed or whatever Faction they decide to join up with.
- He can hold up to 165 kg in Carry Weight, due to his 2 stars in the Weight Lifting skill. This makes him a potential Crew Member that can carry the most weight by default.
- If the Spacefarer has unlocked the Commerce skill, then they can convince the Adoring Fan to “pay for their lifelong membership as a fan, upfront”. This will then prompt him to give 50 credits and a random junk item.
Trivia[]
- This character is a reference to the Adoring Fan from Bethesda's The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.
- They are both voiced by Craig Sechler.
- They share some physical resemblance, such as bright orange hair and generic clothing.
- Like his Oblivion counterpart who exclaims “By Azura, by Azura, by Azura!”, this Adoring Fan exclaims “By Vectera, by Vectera, by Vectera!”
- He will refer to the Spacefarer as “The Hero of Vectera” which is in reference to the protagonist of Oblivion, who was known as “The Hero of Kvatch” in that game.
