Aria Fykes was a character in Starfield. She was a member of the Crimson Fleet and died during a failed raid on a frighter.
Background[]
There is not much known about the life of Aria Fykes prior to the point where she met with Jillian Toft. She became a pirate and member of the Crimson Fleet to an unknown time and was known to be extremely tough and violent. She also had heavy temper problems and could quickly become a bloodthirsty maniac under pressure.
After Naeva Mora recruited Jillian Toft for the Crimson Fleet, she founded a crew out of the toughest pirates on The Key. Aria Fykes became Jillians first mate and their crew went on several successful raids across the Settled Systems. However, the pirates did not trust each other and always had to keep an eye on each other. It is mentioned by Jillian that Aria would have taken command in the first moment Jillian showed any weakness.
One day, the pirates got information about a supposedly lone frighter, which they choose to attack and board. However, this was a trap by UC SysDef. The pirates were able to fend off some attack ships and Aria and Jillian boarded the frighter on their own. But reinforcement in the form of the UC Vigilance arrived very quickly and destroyed their ship with all other pirates on board. Aria and Jillian were offered to surrender by Commander Ikande, but Aria went crazy and said she would kill the frighters crew if the UC SysDef wouldn't let her go. The situation was out of control and Jilian was forced to kill Aria to prevent a massacre.
This situation and especially Aria's willingness to murder defenseless civilians to make her demands heard changed Jillians views on her own previous life and made her change her way after getting released from prison.
