Automated Weapon Systems is a Master Tech Skill.[1] It increases the damage output of automated weapons in Space Combat.

1 Deal 1000 damage to enemy ships with automated turret weapons. Automated ship weapons do 10% more damage and reduce all targeting mode costs by 20%.
2 Deal 4000 damage to enemy ships with automated turret weapons. Automated ship weapons do 20% more damage and reduce all targeting mode costs by 30%. Your ship takes 20% less damage while in targeting mode.
3 Deal 10000 damage to enemy ships with automated turret weapons. Automated ship weapons do 30% more damage and reduce all targeting mode costs by 40%. Increases crit chance against targeted sub-systems by 20%.
4 N/A Ship turret weapons recharge 40% faster and do 20% more damage to targeted sub-systems.

Progression and Strategy[]

Instances of ship combat can be found at mission boards. The starting ship, the Frontier, does not come equipped with Automated Weapons. The player will have to invest in either ship purchases or Ship Customization to use automated weapons.

Automated Weapons can be very powerful, as they can aim outside the player's cone of fire. Several automated weapons can rapidly destroy an enemy ship before the player even lines up towards them. Automated can be a bit self-inhibiting if the player intends to board the ship. Other than that, they are some of the strongest ship weapons in the game, so this skill could be a strong pickup for a space combat - oriented player.

Automated Weapon Systems will need Targeting Control Systems to be used to its fullest, but this is not required.
