Back to the Grind is the first story mission for Ryujin Industries in Starfield.
Summary[]
After filling out a job application at a Ryujin Industries Kiosk, you earn a job interview with Ryujin Industries. What starts out as a simple coffee run for a coworker turns into a risky endeavor. After you return with the coffee order, you get to deliver coffee and meet and greet with the heads of each division at Ryujin Industries.

Detailed Walkthrough[]
After overhearing an announcement that Ryujin Industries is hiring, head to a Ryujin Industries kiosk to apply for a job. Within the kiosk you can learn a little bit more about Ryujin, its history, and its subsidiaries. Begin the job application. The first question will ask how many years of experience you have working as a secretary or in a corporate environment. The second question asks how familiar you are with Ryujin Industries and its product lines. The third question asks you about your proficiency with computers for typing and file management. The fourth question asks the level of education you have completed. The fifth and final question asks about your history with criminal activity. After completing the questionnaire, submit the application. Based on the questions, it is clear that Ryujin is looking for a secretary/office assistant. After submitting your application, you will be directed to Imogene Salzo on the operations floor at Ryujin Tower in Neon. Head there next.
Once at the Ryujin Tower, take the elevator. If you need to, ask for directions from Lane Garza or Jupiter Ellicott. They will direct you to Imogene Salzo's office on the Operations floor. In there, you'll have to take a seat and answer a couple questions. Imogene Salzo will give a short introduction and let you know she is interviewing you for an entry level administrative position. There will be some unique dialogue based on the answers you gave in the questionnaire. After the questions, you'll be hired.
Your first task from Imogene is to go get an order of coffee from Terrabrew. She explains that you can skip the line if you tell them you're there for Imogene Salzo. Head to the coffee shop, skip the line, and you'll be ambushed by Tomo. He's a former employee and thinks you're going to kill him later down the line, so he came to do it first. You can either talk him down or attack him (along with asking for an explanation). After you are finished with Tomo, you can pick up the coffee order and be on your way.
Go back to Imogene. She'll ask what took you so long, and soon after promote you to junior operative for your handling of the Tomo situation. You'll then be asked to bring coffee to four heads of various Ryujin Divisions: Genevieve Monohan (Marketing and PR), Linden Calderi (CFO), Camden Cho (supply chain manager), and Alexis Pryce (head of legal). Once the meet-and-greet is over, you are free to go back to Imogene. The mission will end and she will give you your next assignment.

Notes/Trivia[]
- There is short conversations with Jupiter Ellicott, Delilah Stuart, and Ken Bright about your interview that you can optionally take. There is also a dialogue option with Christine Quince at Tranquilitea's sales office. These dialogue options aren't a direct piece of the mission. They are entirely optional conversations.
