The planet of Vesta.
The Battle of Vesta was a battle fought on the planet of Vesta in the Lunara system in 2308.[1] It was the first battle fought between the United Colonies and Freestar Collective since the Narion War, and marked the beginning of the Colony War.
Prelude[]
In 2307,[2] the Freestar Collective established a farming colony on Vesta, doing that they violated the Treaty of Narion,[3] which limited the star systems of the Collective to Narion, Cheyenne, and Volii.[4]
In 2308, the United Colonies found out about the outpost and attempted a peaceful resolution, sending their diplomats to try and work something out with the Freestar Collective.[2] Unfortunately, the Council of Governors, leaders of the Collective, refused to accept the demands, insisting that Vesta was not colonized, but was only a farming outpost.[5][3] As the talks broke down, war broke out and the diplomats were evacuated from the planet. Unfortunately, at least one diplomat of the United Colonies was caught in the crossfire in space.[5]
Battle[]
With a peaceful resolution not being an option, the United Colonies sent out its forces - the Red Devils and their primary Xenoweapon. Neither the soldiers nor their Xenoweapons suffered any losses, while the Freestar Militia lost all of its defenders,[2] a decisive victory for the United Colonies.[3]
