Dialogue[]
UC Vanguard[]
"Man, that was a close one. I thought I was a goner for sure."
- Anything I can do to help? "Nope, I got it sorted. With old ships like this, it's just replacing whatever part blew out that day."
- What's wrong with the ship? "It's an older model. It runs pretty smooth for the most part, just every now and then something will fail. It's fine if it's the paneling. Not so much if it's the engine."
"See ya."
OR
"Watch your step, stranger. The old gir's barely holding it together as is."
- Can I help with the repairs? "I appreciate the offer, but I think I got it. I just need to patch up a few old wounds that got a bit leaky. After I take care of those, we'll be on our way."
- Is the ship okay? "The old girl is just that. Old. Some parts are stubborn, others are just plain mean. But when they're all working, she sails that starry sky better than any ship in the fleet."
- Old girl? Do you mean the ship? "I do. But she's not just a ship. She's my best friend. Me and this fine lady have been to hell and back together. That's not a journey you'd consider a roundtrip. But somehow she got me home."
"Guess I'll get back to these repairs."
Conversations[]
UC Marine Training[]
Captain: "All right, soldiers, we'll start this training excercise on my mark!"
- "And remember, it's not done until every last one of these robots is coughing up screws. Is that understood?"
- "I want you to pump these bots full of holes until every last one is bleeding bolts, is that understood?"
- "You're gonna junk these robots so hard, the maintenance crew is going to cancel their shore leave! Is that understood?"
UC Marines: "Yes, Captain!"
Captain: "Then let's kick some ass!" OR "Then let's do this!"
After ending the training:
Captain: "All clear! Bring it in team!"
- "Well done, marines! Those robots didn't know what hit them. Everybody take ten! You've earned it."
- "Good work, marines! Every day is another opportunity to improve on our craft. And our craft is violence. As your CO, I ask that you take pride in that craft! Hone it! Master the art so you may inflict untold carnage upon your enemies! But remember, while our method is war, our objective is peace! We do not fight for personal accolades or glory! We fight for the marine beside you! For the United Colonies! And for the Settled Systems!"
- "That's what I like to see, marines! It doesn't matter who or what form the enemy takes! You are all professionals of the highest rank! The battlefield is your office, and violence is your work! But remember, while our method is war, our objective is peace! We do not fight for personal accolades or glory! We fight for the marine beside you! For the United Colonies! And for the Settled Systems!"
- UC Marines: "Yaaaaaah!"
