Captain's Bounty is a side quest in Starfield found at HopeTown on the planet Polvo in the Valo System, which is controlled by the Freestar Collective. The Captain's Bounty quest can be started after landing in HopeTown and speaking to Adella Faheem who is standing just outside of where your ship will land. She will inform you that she is wanted for a small mistake she made as a cargo shipper. A bounty hunter is waiting for her posed as a bartender at a bar called The Pit Stop. The bounty hunter's name is Ernesto. If you agree to help her, go into the bar and tell the bounty hunter that your name is Adella Faheem. He will inform you of his true nature. He will mention that Adella had stolen medical supplies from an orphanage if you opt to ask him what crimes "you" are guilty of. This contradicts what Adella said earlier about her "crime" being simply a small error and it may seem that someone is out to get her. You will have a couple options in how to deal with Ernesto.
- Attack Ernesto - You can attack and kill Ernesto before speaking to him or when given the option during the conversation. Killing him before speaking to him and confirming he is the bounty hunter will advance the quest, but adds a bounty to your character. Alternatively, if you fail the speech check or attempt to convince him that you are actually not Adella, he will attack.
- Persuade Ernesto to let Adella go - Further into the conversation you will be presented the option to persuade him to let Adella go. If successfully persuaded, it will be revealed that the benefactor of the bounty was likely out for the cargo which Adella was carrying and presumably framed her to avoid suspicion and/or to make their job easier. If you fail the speech check or exit the conversation early he will attack. If you have the Bounty Hunter trait you can convince Ernesto that the whole situation doesn't add up without a speech check and he will decide to let her go.
Ernesto cannot be paid off. After dealing with Ernesto, return to Adella and speak to her. This will complete the quest.
Completing to quest will reward the player with credits and experience.
