Crucible is a settlement on Charybdis III in the Charybdis system. The Crucible is the main location for the Operation Starseed quest.
Background[]
The Crucible is a fortress town of cloned historical figures of note that is maintained by robots. The cloned individuals have all the memories and experiences of the original person they were cloned from, with some additional memories implanted to survive and comprehend their situation. The clones have all their food and comfort provided to them by the robots in charge of the town. When a cloned individual dies, a new clone of the same historical figure is processed and released.
3 political parties exist in The Crucible: The Pragmatists Society, the Believer Society, and the Renegade Society.
