Overview[]
The Dagger is a small Class A ship with high mobility and top speed, but weak hull strength, shields, and weapons. Low fuel allowance and small cargo capacity make it a suboptimal choice for main player vessel.
Acquisition[]
One Dagger is in the possession of Ecliptic and can be captured at the outpost Vulture's Roost on Jaffa IV in the Jaffa system. The Dagger will land in the outpost's hangar while the player explores the outpost, and the player has a limited window before the ship departs during which they can board and capture it. Update: in the latest versions of the game, it will not be possible to capture this ship; the hatch is inaccessible.
Dagger variants, such as the UC Dagger, may also be encountered in space. In one random encounter, a UC Dagger that has been stolen by Spacers will pretend to be a United Colonies patrol that has detected contraband in the player's ship. If the player calls their bluff, combat will ensue and the UC Dagger can be disabled, boarded, and captured without incurring a bounty with the UC.
