Detailed Walkthrough[]
After completing the mission Job Gone Wrong, Marshal Daniel Blake thinks you may be Freestar Ranger material. He directs you to The Rock. Head there and speak with Emma Wilcox. She will introduce you to the ideals of the Freestar Rangers. However, before you are Deputized, you need to prove you can handle the job.
Emma sends you to complete any of the missions on the Freestar Ranger Mission Board. Complete any one of the four missions and return to Emma. She will lead you up to the Marshal. He will ask you one simple question - then he will Deputize you. After giving you some Freestar Rangers gear, he assigns you to field duty with Emma. You are to travel to the moon Montara Luna - a farmer (Mikaela Waggoner) reported some individuals trying to take her land.
Travel to Montara Luna with Emma.
Don't forget to grab the skill magazine Grunt Issue 03 from the camp.
Return to Mikaela and let her know she will be safe. You can ask her if she knows anything about a stolen HopeTech starship, but she won't have any information. She will thank you for your help. Emma will then jump in and let you know you need to report this to Marshal Blake. The quest ends, and you receive your XP and credit reward.
