Director Kaia Patel is the research director and administrator of Nishina Research Station. According to Ethan Hughes (Chief of Security), Patel has 28 years of experience working in quantum particle physics.
She works alongside her colleagues Maria Hughes and Ethan Hughes in makeshift labs and their living quarters as the primary labs were blocked off during an accident that killed Rafael Aguerro and sealed the entrance. She misses Rafael saying he was both a colleague and a friend.
