What Is Equipment?[]
Equipment is a general term used to refer to Spacesuits, Helmets, Packs, and Apparel.
Suits, packs, helmets, and apparel all provide Damage Resistance, which lowers the amount of damage you receive from enemy attacks.
To put on a piece of equipment, open the Data Menu and select the Inventory tab at the bottom right. You can view your different equipment in the Spacesuits, Packs, Helmets<, and Apparel tabs. To Wear a piece of equipment, simply select it and Press[E] on Keyboard or Controller Press(A).
There are three main types of Damage Resistance:
- Physical, which protects against bullets, explosions, and melee weapons.
- Energy, which protects against laser and particle weapons.
- Electromagnetic, which protects against electrical disruptor weapons like Novablast Disruptor
Additionally, equipment can protect you against environmental damage like thermal, airborne, corrosive, and radiation damage. Some equipment will be better suited for certain environments than others. For instance, one suit may have a high corrosive resistance, but a low thermal resistance. To learn more about Environmental Damage and its effects, see the “Environmental Damage” page.
The resistances provided by a piece of equipment are shown at the top of the information panel when a piece of equipment is selected. If a piece of equipment provides better protection from a Damage Type than what you're currently wearing, the Damage Resistance values of that equipment will be highlighted in green. Conversely, worse damage resistance will be highlighted in red.
You can modify equipment in numerous ways by visiting a Spacesuit Workbench.
Tiers[]
Spacesuits, Helmets, and Packs are divided into tiers. These range from basic equipment to Superior with the highest protection levels and price. As a character's level increases, higher tiers begin to appear for sale from merchants, as well as in drops from higher-level opponents.
- Basic (no prefix)
- Calibrated
- Refined
- Advanced
- Superior
Mods[]
Mods are Craftable items that can be added to weapons and spacesuits to customize or enhance their performance.
Mods can be crafted at workbenches after their recipes have been unlocked through research.
To craft a spacesuit mod, go to a Spacesuit Workbench and Press [E] on keyboard or Press(A) on Controller. Select the item you would like to modify, and Press [E] on keyboard or Press(A) on Controller. A list of available mods will display. Crafting a mod requires resources. If you lack the materials to create a mod, the mod will be greyed out. Select the mod you would like to craft and Press [E] on keyboard or Press(A) on Controller to begin crafting it.
Research Projects[]
Research projects are completed by contributing all the resources that the project requires. To complete certain projects, you'll need to have skill points invested in Spacesuit Design and Special Projects.

Equipment Perks[]
Unique human enemies can drop Rare, Epic, and Legendary items, which will have one, two, or three stars, respectively. When you pick up a Unique item, its star count will be displayed next to its name. You can also view an item's star count while viewing it in your inventory. An item's star count denotes how many effects the item will have, with rare items having one effect. Epic items having two, and Legendary items having three. Effects can add many types of benefits, such as increasing your carrying capacity or adding poison damage to a gun. Unique weapons and equipment can also be found in containers around the Milky Way, so be on the lookout!

Neuroamps[]
Neuroamps are designed to improve overall brain function in order to boost your quality of life. They've been used in medical monitoring, neurological healing, and as mental stabilizers to help with sleep, anxiety, and social skills.
The first Neuroamp was created by Rei D'Carys, a biotech engineer who specialized in neurological designs. D'Carys was determined to harness the power of the mind to improve aspects of everyday life.
While initially only approved for military use, Neuroamps became a public commodity in 2315 and continue to be Ryujin's Industries primary product toady.
