Walkthrough[]

Go to the other side of the Interstellar Affairs Bureau, and you'll soon find Deputy MacIntyre in her office. She will brief you on how you can influence the Freestar Collective and House Va'ruun ambassadors. MacIntyre gives you information about listening devices which could help you once in the Freestar Collective Embassy. After briefing you on the two diplomats, she sends you to the Freestar Embassy first in order to obtain the first code.

As expected, Ambassador Radcliff is reluctant to give the code. You can then try to convince her through persuasion, or if that fails, or you don't want to, you can speak to the embassy staffer Cameron Long, persuade him to help you access the ambassador's apartment in the embassy. After some sweet lies, you receive, from Long, the key to a utility cabinet. Climb the boxes there to enter the vents and reach the bathroom of the apartment. In there, the plant in pot on your left will reveal the listening device. Seems like the ambassador is trying to get someone in a very bad health situation. With this information in hand, you can now confront Ambassador Radcliff (with some forced extortion for a pistol and credits, if you so choose) or try to convince her if you didn't try already. She will easily cave in and lead you to the archival code machine.

Next, make a visit to the House Va'ruun Embassy (you must enter through a side door). As you enter, the place looks deserted. A crackly and hissing voice beckons you to come closer... follow the sound of the voice, then flip the power switch... Use the intercom to determine your next move. Additionally, You can hack the terminal there (Novice) to get the upcoming turrets on your side. You will then have to go upstairs through a quite linear path to the conference room, and there flip a second breaker, then again to the main floor a new door will be accessible and contains the final switch. You can now access the basement, where there are two Model S robots ready to attack. You must defeat them and approach the stranger, who is none other than Ambassador Qasrik Bal'mor. He will quickly ascertain that you need his archival code and ask you to ensure/give your word that the information will be used for good/moral ends. Bal'mor will talk about the Terrormorph attacks on the city and explain how the House Va'ruun Embassy fell into the state it was in.

You will then need to report to Deputy MacIntyre, for a quick debrief and a very surprised reaction to your success. She will then grant you UCs archival code, and an archive access card. She mentions you should be on your absolute best behavior. The archives are across the plaza from the MAST building. Once in there you can listen to the Historian speech for a bit of context and then go down by elevator and through either door to the archives. These are behind a very secure vault door, and you will be expected to follow instructions to have it opened. Approach the monitoring station and the monitor will explain to you how to proceed. You are to slot the archival codes into 3 receptacles. Then you will be allowed access once verified and directed to Unit 18 where you will grab the data and be directed to return it to Hadrian. Afterward, Deputy MacIntyre will ask you to follow her as you get your citizenship. This is not all; someone asked you by name to share some sensitive information. You have to give your word you will not divulge anything that you'll see.

Upon giving your word you will not divulge anything you see, the quest will complete.

Notes[]

  • If you give Ambassador Bal'mor your word that his archive key will be used for good/moral ends, Sarah Morgan has some unique dialogue vouching for your integrity.
    • It will also result in a positive affinity gain for Sarah Morgan if you select the dialogue option to give Ambassador Bal'mor your word.
