This page is about the ship from the Piloting Simulation. For the standard acquirable ship, see Hoplite.
Hoplite Simulator refers to the Pilot Simulation ship in Starfield. It is supposedly a product of Deimos Staryards Inc.
Overview[]
The Hoplite Simulator is the ship used in the UC Vanguard Pilot Simulator. The name "Hoplite" comes directly from Vanguard Exam Proctor Samuelson in the Piloting Simulation Chamber, and from a model display of a Hoplite in Deimos Staryard. The name in the game files is "Simulator", and is also shown on a save file when a save is made within the simulation. The shorthand "Hoplite S" comes from convenience, and the limitations of in-game ship naming.
This Simulation version s the model for the U.C. Vanguard simulators; the variant used there has a different construction, a Missile weapon as well as 27 reactor power to allocate (statistically equivalent to the "standard" type Hoplite III).
The other "standard" purchasable / acquirable version is manufactured at Deimos Shipyards orbiting the moon Deimos and whose corporate office is located in Cydonia on Mars, is one of the U. C. Navy's workhorses. It is a class B, middle-of-the-road vessel that comes standard with a Ballistic and a Laser weapon.
There are no variants of the Hoplite S used by other factions, including the UC Navy, Marines, SysDef or Vanguard, despite the words of Proctor Samuelson stating the contrary.
Acquisition[]
It is currently not possible to acquire the Hoplite S legitimately, or even with use of Console Commands as the Landing Bay is un-enterable even when unlocked. One would have to construct one themselves at at a ship builder.
Note it is possible to spawn the ship, use "save funclist 1" to get the Simulator Ref ID by searching the log file that opens, then use "player.moveto" to enter and fly the spawned Simulator ship. It still can not be made into a Home Ship, or fast-traveled from within. Do not try this without making a hard-save prior to even spawning the ship, let-alone flying it. As of now, it is still un-storable in any known way.

Notes[]
- One of the four Deimos Ship Scale Models is of the Hoplite Simulator, though simply labeled as "Hoplite" at Deimos Staryard.
- Having two different ships share the same name is likely an oversight by the Developer team. It is much more likely that one of these ships was intended to carry a different name.
- It is possible that the Model / Simulation version is the original Hoplite, due to the existence of the Deimos Staryard Hoplite Model and it's presence in the Simulation. Alternatively, the version that can be acquired may be an old version that was meant to be replaced my the version from the Display Model / Simulation. To be consistent, the Developers would of had to either remove the Deimos Shipyards Display or make and replace the current model on the Display, or alternatively change the acquirable Hoplite to the version seen in the Simulation.
- Despite being part of the Vanguard Pilot Simulation, the Hoplite Simulator does not posses any Vanguard ship parts. The ship is referenced as being "the United Colonies' standard destroyer model", which would imply the ship would use regular parts, not Vanguard parts. However, why the Standard UC Ships wouldn't use such improved equipment is up for debate, but may have to do with cost, as it is up to the specific Vanguard Pilot to cover the expenses for their ship, and not the UC Government.
- The stats for the actual Simulation version of the Hoplite Simulator were acquired using a series of GetAV commands such as Health, ShieldMaxHealth, etc. These values were then compared to the visual models of the ship's parts to narrow down the parts that are as accurate as possible, so far. More parts were verified using xEdit. The ship's ID is UC01_SimulationPlayerShip_ClassB. Further investigation is recommended.
- The exact quote from Vanguard Exam Proctor Samuelson within the Piloting Simulation Chamber regarding the Simulation Ship is "The Simulator is designed to be a near-perfect replica of a Class B Deimos Hoplite, the United Colonies' standard destroyer model." However it appears nowhere else, contradicting the claim of being "standard".
- The Hull Value for the ship when built at a Ship Builder is 914, opposed to the value of 1164 from within the simulation. It is most likely that the version within the simulation has been enhanced by the Developers by an additional 250 points. A created version could also be enhanced by opening the Console, clicking the ship while in flight, and using the command
ModAV Health 250to increase the Hull Value. This may not be permanent.
