Jinan Va'ruun is the founder of House Va'ruun.
The colony ship Archimedes was launched in 2190 from New Atlantis and made a jump from the orbit of Mars, after which contact with it was lost. The ship arrived in 2191 to the Kavnyk system, which was unexplored at that time. During the hyperjump, one of the ship's passengers, Jinan Va'ruun, began to behave strangely, talking to himself, and did not react to others. A few hours later, he came to his senses and claimed that at the moment the gravity engine was running, he came into contact with a transcendental entity — the Great Serpent, and received a revelation from it. He saw the entire universe, the Great Serpent told him that he was going to devour the entire world, and only those who truly worshiped him would be saved and reborn. Almost immediately, Jinan Va'ruun began to recruit followers and preach, founding the cult of the Great Serpent.
Gradually, more and more colonists joined the cult, in 2197 the Colonial Council was dissolved. Power in the founded colony of Dazra passed into the hands of Jinan Va'ruun, who began to reorganize society, founding House Va'ruun and the noble Houses.
In 2230, 40 years after the disappearance of the ship Archimedes, its signature appeared in the Volii system. This time the ship was named Mourning, being the flagship of House Va'ruun, it delivered a diplomatic mission to establish relations with the main factions of the Settled Systems. These relations allowed House Va'ruun agents to gather various information, purchase materials, equipment and finished starships.
Ten years later in 2240, Jinan Va'ruun began the Serpent's Crusade, which lasted until his death in 2263.
