Detailed Walkthrough[]
If you helped Nyssa Marcano in the Distilling Confidence mission and after completing the All That Money Can Buy story mission, a new line will appear in her dialogue "How's it going with your new drink?". Through this conversation, you'll learn Nyssa is having difficulties expanding her business. She knows a good drink alone won't push her to the goals she wants to achieve with her business. She wants to create a distribution network for her cocktail and increase production and marketing. She realized she needs a fast stream of credits to fund the expansion and capitalize on the moment.
To fund her ideas, she is looking for an investor. Nyssa knows the Spacefarer must have connections with some wealthy individuals in the Settled Systems. Nyssa wants to involve Walter Stroud first and asks you to pitch him the idea.
Head to the Lodge to speak with Walter. Walter will be initially skeptical. All dialogue options lead to the same two responses: Walter will either give you advice on how to sell an idea or compliment you on your simple and definitive pitch. After this initial difference, he has the exact same dialogue stating that he normally wouldn't invest in this idea, but due to the relationship you have developed, he trusts you enough to take a chance on the idea. After convincing Walter to help, he will send the player to deliver a message to his wife in Neon (Issa Eklund). The message is "I've been thinking about re-reading Jules Verne". After this, he states he will get the necessary paperwork underway.
Head to Neon and Stroud-Eklund HQ at Bayu's Tower. After delivering the vague message, Issa will ask about what you talked Walter into. Regardless of how you respond, she will explain the backstory for the code phrase (you can find the story in the Notes/Trivia section) and then agrees to draw up the paperwork for funding.
Having passed the message and secured the funding, return to New Atlantis to notify Nyssa Marcano about the Strouds' agreement to invest in her business. She wants to get another investor as a counterbalance so there isn't complete control from one investor. The two possible NPCs to recruit are Reisha Lance, CEO of Laredo Firearms, if you completed the mission “Peacemaker”, or Benjamin Bayu if you completed “Fishy Business”. If you haven't completed either of those missions, you can become a co-investor yourself by investing 10000 credits and immediately completing the mission, or finish either of those missions and recruit the respective person. The mission will end and you will receive your rewards.
Rewards[]
- Levelled Credits
- 75 XP
Notes/Trivia[]
- Issa's story about the phrase is: Before they married, Walter told her of a credstick he stashed away in a copy of the book "Around the World in 80 Days" for opportunities like the one in this mission. It became a running joke between them and something they use now today for these situations.
- After the investment, on subsequent visits to the bar, Nyssa Marcano will from time to time not only give a free drink, but also a small amount of money, usually a few hundred credits.
- Opting to invest yourself at a high enough level, can result in more than half of your investment being returned to you in the form of the mission reward.
Mission Stages[]
- Nyssa Marcano has asked me for more help expanding her business. I should talk to her when I'm able to help.
- Nyssa Marcano has asked me to talk to Walter Stroud about investing in her business expansion.
- Walter Stroud has agreed to help fund Nyssa Marcano's business, but has first asked that I speak with his wife Issa.
- I need to inform Nyssa Marcano that Walter Stroud will be investing in her business.
- I've found an investor for Nyssa Marcano's business, but she is adamant that she wants one other party involved. I should use connections I've made during my travels, or offer to get involved myself.

- Funding for Nyssa's operation has been secured. Now I just need to give her time and see what she does with it.
