Starfield Wiki

Olive Branch is a Miscellaneous mission in Starfield initiated by Nilesh Sherazi.

Background[]

“A man in the Embassy District asked me to plant an olive seed, in hopes it will serve as a symbol of peace.”

You meet Nilesh Sherazi near the SSNN sign opposite the entrance to the MAST building. He has on olive seed that he wants to be planted in the middle of New Atlantis, which he believes will act as a symbol of peace. Apparently, he has tried planting the seed himself before, but ran into trouble with security — they wouldn't allow him to plant it.

He asks you to plant the seed for him.

Objectives[]

  • Plant the olive seed
  • (Optional) Hand the seed over to the guard
  • (Optional) Ask Nilesh for a diversion
  • Return to Nilesh

Detailed Walkthrough[]

A member of UC Security is usually posted directly where you are sent to plant the olive seed. At this point, you need to find a way to distract the guard or displace the guard. Alternatively, you can decide to turn in the olive seed to the guard. Below are some approaches you can take with the quest:

Diversion Approach

Nilesh has a secret option (not described in the quest log) to provide a diversion so you can plant the olive seed without anyone watching. If you ask him to provide a diversion, he will sarcastically reply to you, then immediately provide the distraction:

Nilesh: "Guard, guard! I'd like to report a crime.”

UC Security: "Okay, okay. What's the crime?”

Nilesh: "A crime of passion.”

UC Security: "Is there a body?”

Nilesh: "Oh yes. There is most certainly is a body. There can't be a crime without a body.”

UC Security: "Okay, but if there's a crime scene, we might need to bring in a blood spatter expert.”

Nilesh: : "There's no blood. Why would there be blood?”

UC Security: "You said this was a crime of passion.”

Nilesh: "Oh, did I say passion? I meant, a crime of fashion.”

Nilesh: "Your uniform is hideous and I would like to report it.”

UC Security: "Ugh. Get the hell outta my sight.”

During this conversation, the guard will be completely focused on his conversation with Nilesh, giving you the opening needed to plant the olive seed.

Manually moving the security guard

You can sprint into the security guard, pushing them far enough away to allow you to plant the seed.

Turning in the olive seed

You can choose to submit the olive seed to UC Security.

If you request UC Security to dispose of the seed, they will oblige, saying:

"Of course. Littering is a crime. Thank you for doing your part in keeping the district clean.”
