Paradiso is a luxury beach resort located on the planet Porrima II in the Porrima system. It is run by the Paradiso Group a cutthroat, cheapskate corporate board and operates outside the jurisdiction of the United Colonies and the Freestar Collective. The CEO is Oliver.

Recently, tourism to Paradiso has been affected by the arrival of an unidentified ship in Porrima II's orbit. The CEO and the head of security Sugiyama are paranoid that the mystery ship will cause the tourist to leave and riot. Shuttles to the planet have had to take alternate descent routes to prevent resort guests from seeing the ship, and Paradiso Security is unable to open any lines of communication. When the Spacefarer approaches the planet, Paradiso Security reaches out to request their assistance and determine the unknown ship's intentions.
