Rafael Aguerro is a potential recruitable crewmate for the Spacefarer. He is the chief engineer of the Nishina Research Station. He cannot be romanced.
Background[]
Rafael and his colleagues are employees of the Nishina Research Station. 3 months before the Spacefarer's arrival, Rafael goes to the High Energy Research Lab to calibrate an experiment; In doing so this caused an accidental explosion. In one universe Rafael was able to contain the explosion via the ventilation controls but sacrificed himself in the process. In another universe the explosion ignited a nearby Hydrogen leak causing a chain reaction, killing everyone except Rafael as he was narrowly able to take cover in the control room. As a result, the electric pulsefield keeping the wildlife at bay was deactivated, prompting the apex predator Cataxi to take up residence in the now derelict facility.

He can be recruited as a crew member after finishing the mission Entangled, by either cementing Rafael's timeline or merging the two timelines together.
Following this Rafael will tell you he's willing to work for you, but can not be recruited until you speak to him at The Viewport in New Atlantis.
