- Speak with Trevor
Detailed Walkthrough[]
After getting the quest, head to the mines and use your scan interface to locate clumps of iron. Gather 10 of those to reach the standard quota. Once done drop them in the orange cart in front of Trevor and speak to him again. He will explain that their Director of Mining Operations (Peter Brennan) fired his last assistant over a month ago. As Peter is the only one who can approval their request for new equipment, Trevor wants you to get that assistant job so you can convince Peter to sign off on the approval. He mentions having a "surefire" way to get you (the Spacefarer) the job. We learn what this plan is later in the mission.
To get the job, you'll have to fill out the application in the Deimos Staryards office, so head over there in your ship. You can fill in the form however you like, it does not matter how you answer. Go back to Cydonia and speak to Trevor again.
He will then reveal his plan to get you the job: you need to go delete every other applicant form from the HR terminal to ensure you're the only applicant, and therefore the only true candidate for the job. He mentions that the terminal is located in the corporate office "upstairs".
- You can ask Trevor for clarification on how to access the HR terminal. He happens to know that the HR director Tia Wu goes to happy hour at The Broken Spear every evening at 5PM local time with Leona Hawkes and Gilly Seong (the other ladies from corporate). That's when it's easiest to go and modify the files.
- Watch out, sometimes Peter Brennan can still be hovering around his office at this time, although there are likely no repercussions if he sees you.
- You can also ask Trever if he thinks anyone will notice or think it is odd that there is only one application in the system. He explains that Tia is so overworked and behind, she probably has no idea if there are any applications in the system. However, he agrees that is a good point and explains he will ping her to ask if any applications came in (once we delete the other applications). That should prompt her to check the system and hire the Spacefarer on the spot.
Trevor provides you with a data slate containing the password. Head up the stairs closest to Trevor into the corporate office and access the HR terminal using the passkey Trevor provided.
Once you delete all the applications, go back to Trevor. Congratulations, you have already been hired!
Trevor reassures you that they no one will discover your little plot - they are too busy and overworked to care. He also reassures you to not feel bad about deleting other candidates applications - they either moved to a new job due to the wait time, or the company will hire a new assistant after the Spacefarer disappears.
At the end of the quest dialogue, Trevor introduces the next quest (Red Tape Runaround) The next step is to work for Peter Brennan as his Executive Assistant. He introduces your the mission: Get access to Peter Brennan's terminal and monitor any requests until you see Trevor's request. Once you see Trevor's request, approve it. Then, the miners can get the new equipment so they can reach their quota.
Rewards[]
- Levelled Credits
- Levelled XP
Notes[]
- Using the Elemental Pull to gather materials in the mining area may make everyone around hostile. Doing so hidden should solve the problem.
- Tia's password is apparently "drowssap", or password spelled backwards. Apparently Tia shares this with everyone at the bar.
- If you get to the office before happy hour - Tia has a unique dialogue discussing leaving the office to head to the "Spear" (The Broken Spear). The audio may mistakenly play when they are already at the bar.
- Interacting with the women at the Broken Spear provides no unique quest-related dialogue.
- Completing this quest unlocks new dialogue with Trevor.
- "How's the corporate world up there, big shot? Eh? Eh? Hahaha, just messin' with you mate!"
- "Well now, lookee here, it's the Assistant to the Executive in charge of Mining Operations."
- "I hope Peter's not too much trouble. He can be a bit... much."
