Shotgun Certification is a Novice Combat Skill. It improves the usefulness of shotgun weapons.

Progression and Strategy[]
To progress this skill, the player should use a shotgun in engagements. Getting enough kills may take time.
This skill can be very strong, as shotguns can be very powerful in Starfield. Starfield's combat environments are often small, enclosed spaces that make short range less of an issue (Though there are some exceptions). Even so, a player may find broader skills such as Ballistics more useful, as it affects more weapons.
This skill pairs up very well with Rapid Reloading, as small magazine sizes are a major weakness of many shotgun weapons. Skills such as Stealth or Boost Pack Training can help a player get close enough to deal major damage.
