Stroud-Eklund is a major ship manufacturing corporation in the Settled Systems. It is co-owned by Walter Stroud and his wife, Issa Eklund, who both serve as co-CEOs.[1] The company's headquarters is Stroud-Eklund Corporate HQ, which occupies a floor of the Trade Tower in Neon. It also operates the Stroud-Eklund Staryard orbiting Dalvik, the moon of Deepala in the Narion system.
Overview[]
Stroud-Eklund is a relatively new player in the ship manufacturing industry. Walter Stroud and Issa Eklund originally ran separate companies that mostly produced consumer goods.citation needed When the visionary Walter and the wealthy Issa married sometime after the Colony War, they merged their companies into Stroud-Eklund and decided to focus entirely on ship production.citation needed Normally, such a dramatic corporate pivot is fraught with risk, but Stroud-Eklund was able to bring a vast amount of capital to bear to ensure the change was smooth and successful.citation needed Almost overnight, Stroud-Eklund rebranded itself into a manufacturer of cutting-edge ships, catching other staryards like Deimos Staryards Inc and Taiyō Astroneering by surprise and forcing them to play catch-up.citation needed
As of 2330, Stroud-Eklund no longer holds the enormous competitive advantage it used to, but it is still recognized as a leading purveyor of quality ships and parts.citation needed Unfortunately, this reputation has also made Stroud-Eklund ships a popular target for criminals who often steal the parts to upgrade their own ships.citation needed
Due to the clashing leadership styles of Walter Stroud and Issa Eklund, the two co-CEOs worked out an arrangement to compartmentalize their work and personal lives. The company's day-to-day operation is managed by Issa in Neon, while Walter is content to spend most of his time in New Atlantis and provide financial support for Constellation.
