The Devils You Know is the sixth UC Vanguard faction mission in Starfield.
Objectives[]
- Proceed to your meeting (Subsection Seven)
- Use the Intercom

- Find “The Warlock”
- Destroy the ship
- OR disable the engines

Walkthrough[]
Take the MAST elevator to Subsection Seven and follow the path to a secure door. Your companions will be set to wait, and the secure hatch will unlock. On the other side, a stranger asks you to use the intercom to talk. He will reveal himself as François Sanon, or Vae Victis as more know him. He tells you why he hasn't been executed, and what he has been doing all this time. He appears to have located Hadrian's old research team, but wants a man dealt with: Reginald Orlase.
You can speak to Deputy MacIntrye for more info on your mark. She will recommend capturing Reginald so that he faces justice for his war crimes.
You are then to go to The Den, orbiting the world of Wolf. You are to speak to a Vanguard Captain named Rayna Marquez. She will not recognize the name of your quarry; however, she happens to know of a ship that frequents the area you have been informed of. She'll point you to The Warlock. And after the conversation there will be a tutorial specifying how you can disable a ship's engines with EM weaponry (That is if you don't already have the Targeting Control Systems perk which is more efficient).
Once you get to the ships' location, just advance and the ship's captain will blabber nonsense. You have two options here. Either you disable his ship and board him, or you blow the ship through outer space. In the case of boarding, the man suicides as you enter, so you're left with collecting Vae Victis' evidence, and then returning to him to show your success. You'll have to drop the ID in a box. Then he will inform you of a member of the scientific team you'll need to go grab yourself: Kaiser a Military warbot.
