UC Marine Corps

The United Colonies Marine Corps (UCMC), often abbreviated to UC Marine Corps or only UC Marines, is the infantry branch of the UC Navy, operating as ground infantry during heavy combat.

Background[]

When UCSEC officers are no longer capable of containing a threat, the UC Marines are called in to get the situation back under control. They are trained and equipped with heavy-issue, military-grade armor and weaponry. The Marine Corps is also tasked with the distribution of the UC Defense Manuals.

Random Encounters[]

As part of a random encounter, UC Marines can be encountered along with their captain in a training exercise.
As part of a random encounter, several dead UC Marines can be found at points of interest, being looted by a Survivalist.

Eyewitness[]

One of the most notable deployments of the UCMC was during the Terrormorph attack on New Atlantis, where a squad of Marines was deployed to assist UCSEC in eliminating the three Terrormorphs. During this attack, the Spacefarer can recruit a small squad of Marines, consisting of a squad leader and a regular Marine, who will support him during the fight against the remaining Terrormorphs. A third Marine, who is not recruitable for the fight against the Terrormorph, can be seen providing first aid to injured UCSEC officers.

Groundpounder[]

During an enormous Spacer attack on the Freestar Collective Research Outpost U3-09, a team of UC Marines under the command of Captain Myeong aided the Freestar Collective, despite all tensions because of the Colony War. The outpost was already overrun when the UC Marines arrived, but they were able to rescue several survivors and create a safe zone with an improvised lazaret. With the help of the Spacefarer, the Spacers can be defeated and their ships get destroyed. But both the crew of the research outpost and the UC Marines suffer heavy losses.
