Vortex Phantoms are one of several new enemies introduced in the Shattered Space expansion.
Background[]
Formally humans, after an expirement with Grav Drives went wrong, those caught in the blast have been trapped in a "vortex between dimensions." As a result, they are dislodged from time. Their condition also renders them hostile. Very rarely do they hold on to a semblance of sanity, although "fresh" victims also seem to question their situation before engaging in hostilities.
When killed, Vortex Phantoms will lose their glow. Humans will, as such, appear as regular corpses.
The original experiment performed at Ma'leen Dam was succesful, and produced Vortex Phantoms that remained sane. In addition, these Phantoms cannot be killed by conventional means.
